Roberto E. Forte, the new Secretary General.
Roberto E. Forte, obtained his professional qualification to practise as a lawyer in 1997, after graduating in law from the University of Berne in 1994.
From 1998 to 1999 he worked as the personal assistant to the then Councillor of State and Director of the Department of the Institutions, Alex Pedrazzini. He worked for a short period in the same capacity for Alex Pedrazzini’s successor, Luigi Pedrazzini.
He then joined a large law firm in Zurich where he was mainly involved in commercial and banking law.
In September 2001, Forte went to the United States where he obtained his master’s degree in law (LL.M.) at the Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, specializing in alternative approaches to dispute resolution and mediation.
In 2002 he was appointed assistant lecturer in law at the same institute where he teaches negotiation and mediation techniques.
Mr. Forte has also worked as a consultant in international arbitration to a law firm in Chicago and has been a mediator in many disputes. Since obtaining his diploma as a mediation trainer from the Center for Conflict Resolution in Chicago, he has taught a number of training courses and seminars on negotiation and mediation techniques.
Roberto Forte has been working with the Milan law firm of La Scala Ventura Pesenti & Associati since September 2003 and regularly works as a mediator and consultant in the field of alternative methods for resolving disputes.
